Hosting a garage sale is an excellent way to get rid of your unwanted stuff, and make some money doing it! It is also a great way to make your move easier, by lightening your load.

If you don’t have enough stuff in your “garage sale pile”, go back through your things several more times. Really think about what you need and what you are just hanging on to. Chances are, if you haven’t used something before you moved, you still won’t use it after you move.

Also, be sure to consider the area your moving to. There is obviously no more need for your old snow-blower if you are moving to Florida, but there may also be more subtle examples that you have not thought of, as well.

Hold your garage sale on a day when the weather will cooperate. Saturdays are the best days for garage sales and attract the most browsers. Advertising your garage sale in the newspaper and/or with signs is a great way of attracting business.
